News for November 2016

The Oratory ended the Year of Mercy on Saturday, November 19. Sister Gay Rowzie, HM led a brief examination of conscience followed by the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Four Oratorian priests heard confessions. The morning concluded with Mass at Noon. The Holy Door at The Oratory was closed. The Year of Mercy has ended but a life of mercy continues.

Sister Mary Hugh Maudlin, RSM presented a program on The Pentateuch for The Center of Spirituality. The day was prayerful and filled with a lot of information and fun facts on the first five books of the Bible. In the spring, sister tackles the Letters of Saint Paul.

The local parishes staffed by The Oratory were busy planning for their Advent/Christmas Season. Campus ministry is sliding into the end of the semester. Saint Anne’s School presented Twelfth Night. How the students memorized all those lines is beyond my comprehension. Thanksgiving was celebrated with Liturgy, prayer and A LOT OF good food.

In December, the Center of Spirituality is presenting a program: Women through the Centuries December 9 and 10. Information is in the brochure or you can call us for more information: 803 327-2097. Also attached is the Christmas/New Year Schedule for The Oratory and  the local parishes.

All the priests and brothers wish you a peace-filled Advent, a Merry Christmas and a Happy New year!
